Of all the emotional reactions, sadness is one of the most powerful. I have now sunk to the level of its evil cousin despair ( good friends with depression and hopelessness). You do not cry when you are here. That would be a pleasant release of emotions in fact! No, here is where the light in your eyes fades dim and the lust for your life falls asleep. Will it awaken in me, that light and lust, again for all the world to see. Perhaps. But for now I must wait out this darkness like a winter storm. Keep my thoughts warm as fire and my persuasion as comforting as many blankets.
